Larry Garrett, PhD, MPH

Dr. Garrett received dual undergraduate degrees in Behavioral Science and Health and Nursing as well as a Master in Public Health from the University of Utah. He recently finished a PhD at Western Michigan University in Interdisciplinary Health Science. He was the first Health Informatics Fellow with the National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a former Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Prior to working at HealthInsight, he was a partner in a Public Health software and consulting company. In this capacity, he developed software applications that supported the underlying business and reporting requirements associated with Public Health. In his current position at HealthInsight he leads the hospital readmissions reduction program. Larry has been married to Deborah for thirty one years and has three children, Curtis (age 28), James (age 21) and Erika (age 13). He enjoys biking in the summer and skiing in the winter.
